Electrical Engineer – Position Summary
This full time position offers access to a broad range of electrical engineering experience, and exposure to many projects in all stages of the product life-cycle. As an Electrical Engineer working in embedded systems, you will gain experience with analog, digital, and power design, component selection and manufacturing considerations, and tool and process development. You will work closely with project management, senior engineering staff, and documentation control in support critical to the function of the research and development department.
Essential Job Duties
- Designs and implements portions of printed circuit board designs, cable wiring, and other electrical components according to project technical specifications
- Designs and implements test fixtures and adapters to aid development, production, test, and repair
- Maintain and expand electrical component CAD tools and database
- Identify evaluate, and select components for new projects and for component lifecycle management
- Assist in vendor communications to resolve technical issues
- Assist in process creation and continuous process improvement programs
- Write and review engineering change requests as assigned
- Collaborate with Document Control to resolve issues, develop tools, and ensure technical correctness of documentation
- Work with purchasing and vendors to order samples and custom parts
- Provide estimates of risk and efforts of assigned tasks
- Participate in design reviews
- Work with compliance and testing laboratories as assigned
Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Ability to design and develop schematics, analyze circuit design to given requirements, verification of performance to requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate openly
- Comfort working with a variety of individuals and teams as needs dictate
- Confidence working independently according to task specifications
- Knowledge of Altium CAD a plus
- Familiarity with component databases a plus
- Working knowledge of VHDL a plus
- Working knowledge of programming and C/C++ a plus
- Familiarity with Google and Microsoft office products a plus
Education and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 0-5 years experience in Electrical design, component engineering, electrical technician, or related duties
Documentation Control Specialist- Position Summary
The Documentation Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing and improving various engineering and manufacturing documentation for internal and vendor use. The Documentation Control Specialist also manages the engineering change process, resolves production quality issues, and leads process improvement initiatives to increase manufacturing accuracy while decreasing lead time and cost.
Essential Job Duties
- Administer the company’s document control process and systems
- Oversee the engineering change process
- Apply principles of continuous improvement to documentation processes
- Communicate technical details to vendors and internal customers
- Resolve vendor issues within scope of skill set
- Coordinate remaining vendor issues with appropriate stakeholders
- Tool, form, document, and process design and implementation
- Lead and complete engineering projects within scope of skill set
- Work with engineering teams to ensure that documentation standards are met
- Train coworkers and vendors in retrieving and submitting to documentation systems
- Work with purchasing and vendors to order samples and custom parts
- Provide estimates of risk, effort, time, and cost
- Assemble and evaluate samples and custom parts within skill set
Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Attention to detail, must be meticulous and consistent
- Process oriented mindset
- Extremely good communication skills, both written and oral
- Working knowledge of parts management databases
- Google and Microsoft office products
- Problem solving and analysis
Education and Experience
- AS or BS in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred. Other candidates having experience with documentation systems will be considered
- Experience in manufacturing vendor relations, manufacturing process, or assembly a plus
